Other than the act of an addict physically admitting him or her self, treatment planning is the most critical step in the treatment process. Because the window for treatment may be brief, it is imperative that any treatment center give its absolute best efforts in crafting a successful treatment plan for each and every addict:
Every addict needs an individual treatment program for their addiction
Avalon Ranch matches our facilities and techniques to address each resident's individual needs. In addition to treating drug use, our treatment program addresses fallout such as medical, social, financial and legal issues arising from an addict's past behavior.
The individual treatment plan must be assessed and updated when appropriate.
Frequently, an addict's needs will change as they progress through treatment for drug addiction or alcoholism. At Avalon Ranch we understand that our residents may very well need an updated treatment plan. For that reason, we adjust methods, therapies, activities, medical services and social services as needed.
Residents must allow themselves time to heal.
Our treatment plans require an adequate length of stay to complete treatment. There is no set period of time for treatment, and any facility that attempts to shoehorn participants into 30, 60, 90 or any other fixed length of stay is doing a disservice to their client. Appropriate treatment duration is assessed by our intake team and will be evaluated through the course of the treatment process. Predicatably, many addicts want to leave treatment prematurely. For this reason, we have crafted admissions policies that provide a strong incentive to complete treatment.
Medication and medical intervention is a critical part of treatment.
Unlike many facilities, Avalon Ranch does not view medical providers or medical treatment options as an obstacle to treatment. In fact, we are affiliated with a leading independent addiction specialist who provides medical treatment as needed. Medical treatment is especially critical for addicts who may have a co-occuring disorder (often referred to as "dual diagnosis"). Each of our treatment plans considers the appropriateness of medical intervention in the successful treatment of addiction.
